What you need to know about allergies to perfumes

Have you ever been sitting on a train or a plane or paid for expensive seats to an entertainment venue when you catch a whiff of a perfume, that suddenly has your head throbbing, your throat closing and your eyes watering? You have to sit where you are because there is no where to go when you are on a plane or a bus when this happens. You may even have to leave the theater and forfeit your expensive concert tickets because someone sitting near you has bathed in perfume that is strangling you.

We had to leave the arena when my son was much younger and the seats were expensive. The woman in front of us had literally marinaded herself with perfume. After about ten minutes when this lady sat down in her seat late, my son started to cough, his eyes watered, and he had problems breathing. I took him for a walk in the arena hallway and he could breath again. As soon as we came back the allergy symptoms started up again, with my son unable to breath very well due to his throat closing up. We left early, and went outside into the fresh air so our child could breath again.
This is scary when suddenly you are seized with allergy symptoms when you are in a public place. Your throat closes up and sometimes wheezing or evenasthma symptoms kick in. What do you need to know about perfume allergies? First, try to relax because perfume allergy symptoms only happen to about one percent of the population. While they are not fun, usually they don't last that long and they go away when you change your location and get rid of the source of the allergen.
A perfume allergy is usually respiratory in nature and is caused by the allergens in the perfume. But they can also be caused by the allergens contained in many other everyday items such as air freshener, shampoos, sprays, deodorant, cologne, candles, and detergent, due to the perfume-like substances contained in them. The common symtpoms associated with a perfume allergy are the following: nausea, vomiting, headache, throat swelling, sinuses becoming inflamed, eyes watering, tingling sensation on the skin, a rash in the sensitive area.
A perfume allergy occurs because an abnormal allergic reation of the immune system occurs when you come in contact with a substance or an allergen. The body perceives the allegen to be harmful to the body and all those allergy symptoms start up to protect the body. There are three classifications of perfume allergies: 1. Direct contact with the substance. This is when you use the perfume, lotion or shampoo

Since its inception in 1979, The Skin Cancer Foundation has always recommended using a sunscreen with an SPF 15 or higher as one important part of a complete sun protection regimen. Sunscreen alone is not enough, however. Read our full list of skin cancer prevention tips.
  • Seek the shade, especially between 10 AM and 4 PM.
  • Do not burn.
  • Avoid tanning and UV tanning booths.
  • Cover up with clothing, including a broad-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.

Natural Health and Organic Living:

Etobicoke Living: Natural Health and Organic Living: Five Moves To L...:

Looking to get lean legs? If so, you aren't alone. One of the top goals of many women who are entering the gym is to get a lean set of legs that they can feel proud to sport in a pair of shorts or a skirt for the summer.
If you want to make sure that you're on the right track to get lean legs, it's going to be vital that you're taking the time to learn the best leg slimming exercises out there and then taking the time to add them to your fitness plan.
Let's have a quick look over the top moves that you should consider so that you can achieve this goal in record time.

Lunges

The first move that's great for helping to lengthen the legs and add a more defined appearance is lunges. Lunges are fantastic since not only will they work the glutes, hamstrings, and quads, but they'll also target your core as it contracts to help you maintain balance.
Perform these walking all the way across a room and back, doing two sets each workout.

Squats

Squats are the next movement that will really help you get lean legs in a hurry. Squats are also a compound movement so will target every single muscle in the lower body and in addition to that, they're also one of the best strength developers.
By adding a bit more lean muscle mass to your frame, you'll increase your total daily calorie burn and therefore have a much easier time shedding the fat.

Rear Leg Raises

Moving over to rear leg raises, these are perfect for any woman who wants to firm up her backside as they'll target the muscles specifically surrounding the bum region.
Since you aren't lifting any weights when doing rear leg raises either, you'll get toning benefits without any increase in size.

Uphill Walking

Uphill walking is another great exercise that you should include in your workout program when doing your cardio training.
Not only will uphill walking burn off as many calories as fast paced running would, but it's really going to challenge your lower body muscles as well.
For anyone who suffers from back pain these are also a perfect alternative since they'll be much lower impact than running would be.

Deadlifts

Finally, last but not least, don't overlook deadlifts. Deadlifts are great for firming your rear side and will also help to strengthen the lower back and core muscles as well.
When performing your deadlifts you really want to think of squeezing up from the glutes only, ensuring that you are using the bum muscles to perform the movement rather than using the lower back instead.
Also be sure when executing the rising phase of this movement that you do maintain that flat back position as this is what will ensure that you aren't at risk for developing lower back pain.
